Lancia Delta Integrale Evo 1

The Delta Integrale, made its debut in the 1987 World Rally Championship and quickly established itself as a dominant force in the competition, winning the championship six times in a row between 1987 and 1992. A record that still stands. The same period also saw the World Drivers’ Championship title won four times. In 1993 Lancia still released the Evo 2, but it was no longer a homologation model, as the factory no longer made a rally car of it. The Delta Integrale was powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and had all-wheel drive, which gave it exceptional grip and handling. Evolution models rolled out of the factory starting in late 1991. To improve handling, the Evolution I had more track width which produced the distinctive thick wheel arches. Other features include air intakes for additional cooling and an adjustable spoiler for increased downforce. All-wheel drive was divided into 47% to the front wheels and 53% to the rear wheels. The 16V engine was a further development of the earlier models and produced 211bhp. The Lancia Delta Integrale EVO 1 was a true rally icon and its reputation as one of the greatest rally cars of all time is well deserved and is now highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts.
